I've allowed Firefox Hello download a couple of days ago. dwhelper no longer works. I've tested the extensions. As I only have two, dwhelper and lightbeam, this was easy to do.

I use dwhelper a lot. I use online videos from many sources for my physics and astronomy teaching needs.
This is a problem associated with many video sites, not only youtube.
I've deleted dwhelper and reinstalled it. Started and stopped Firefox. Restarted my macbook pro as well.
Program seems to work up to and including window specifying location to place downloading file.

I had download helper installed with Firefox 3.0.5 and got rid of it yesterday because of this 'dwhelper' file that shows where my documents, music files etc. is I cannot get rid of this folder no how. If you try it says it is being used by something else. I read online issues with it with XP but no answer for Vista. HOW do I get rid of this annoying file?

How did you remove Download Helper?
What is the name and path of the undeletable folder (or is it a file ?) ?
for example (C:Usersusernamedwhelper)
I tried unlocker and the file deleted but it seems it has 'something' to do with documents. I lost my documents but had backed them up so I put them back into my documents folder but the dwhelper file showed up again. If I delete it the documents goes with it and I get 'location not available' and the path has C:UsersnamedwhelperdwhelperDocumentsDownloadsdwhelperDocuments.
Is this folder part of Vista then? I am beginning to think it has nothing to do with download helper which I uninstalled awhile ago. Threads online had tied it with Download Helper.

Is your C:UsersnameDocuments folder acting normally after you deleted what you did ?
Everything worked but 'documents' was not usable. It had the x and location not found.
Have a look in the properties of the Documents folder. What does it tell you in Location ?

I have done that THANK YOU VERY MUCH and I had to reload download helper and figured out in the tools menu what happened. Sg310 usb devices driver download. It had to be reconfigured so the files know where to go so I made a file of a name I would recognize and so far all is ok. I deleted the dwhelper file and it's gone. Thank you for all your help. :)
